Samsung needs to release specs for the 'instinct q' or whatever it's going to be called.
Colin Small @ Sep 10th 2009 8:25PM
Hero on Sprint has a 2.3 inch screen??? Typo?
Elk @ Sep 10th 2009 9:46PM
Ya, I noticed that too. The HTC site clearly states the screen size is 3.2in.
Y314K @ Sep 11th 2009 2:04AM
2.3 should be 3.2. It's a typo...
Also the storage space available for all of this HTC phones should be 256mb instead of 512mb's just like the Moto Cliq...
Please edit Ross...
I wish the Tattoo's Screen(240x320) & touchscreen(resistive) specs was a typo too... But it's not...
drtysouf21 @ Sep 10th 2009 8:26PM
Why did the list the Sprint HTC Hero as having a 2.3 inch screen when it has a 3.2 inch screen? Honest mistake or are they trying to make it look bad!
Colin Small @ Sep 10th 2009 8:28PM
Also, I think the Sprint Hero has a 1500 mAh battery.
drtysouf21 @ Sep 10th 2009 10:06PM
Your right they messed that up also.
mstarman @ Sep 11th 2009 6:47AM
Hero screen size should be 3.2
PEZOLLA @ Sep 10th 2009 8:34PM
Disappointed at the size of these screens.
Cliff @ Sep 10th 2009 8:36PM
was gonna comment on the HTC Hero typo but I guess everyone beat me to it!
codemaker @ Sep 11th 2009 10:07AM
Yet some how you still managed to comment on it... smh
JKD23 @ Sep 10th 2009 8:44PM
"...it's pretty much as uniform as a netbook"
I agree, that's why Android is still receiving a lukewarm reception in general right now. We're all waiting for something spectacular which I'll admit maybe a bit unfair and selfish of us but I think it's true.
Though, if I had to pick any Android phone right now it would definitely be the Cliq especially because it has a good keyboard. I've realized over the last couple of days of hardcore texting on my iPhone, I definitely prefer and want a physical keyboard. Really hoping my next stop will be either Android, Palm or a Windows Phone but I think I want to go back to a phone with a hardware keyboard.
EverlastingPhotos @ Nov 15th 2009 6:26PM
Def a keyboard is a plus you can utilize your entire screen which is much better and less typos.
JL @ Sep 10th 2009 9:35PM
The CLIQ has a 1420 mAh battery, not 1400 mAh.
kyle @ Sep 10th 2009 10:27PM
after all the hoopla today,
im moving to sprint and grabbing a hero
Kyle @ Sep 10th 2009 11:08PM
Sprint's version of the Hero does have a 1500mAh battery
Ed @ Sep 11th 2009 1:18AM
Sorry to seem ungrateful, but aren't you missing the most important attribute: the dimensions?
Y314K @ Sep 11th 2009 2:26AM
The Moto Cliq info release is great... Not because I want a Moto phone (Rosie >>> Blur) but because I really hope competition takes hold & HTC rethinks & upgrades the Tattoo's TouchScreen & Camera specs, at least for the US release...
Most of us can live with a phone without a keyboard(millions do...)... But that phone better be capacitive & at the very list be the size & quality of the G1's screen... HTC has a great virtual keyboard... But if I wanted to use a stylist or let my nails grow to be able to type on it... I would just get a fraking HTC Touch 2 with WiMo 6.crap... It comes with Sense UI Light + the most resistive OS out there...
I'll probably end up having to get a single HTC Hero on Sprint (Although I prefer the Euro version of it)... Instead of getting 3-4(for everybody in my FamPlan) HTC Tattoo's on what ever network releases it first... So here is hopping HTC stop's making one of the lames excuse why they snips, snips the Tattoo's great potential....
david @ Sep 11th 2009 5:04AM
Where is the info. on the Instinct Q launching in NOV on sprint?
sockatume @ Sep 11th 2009 10:40AM
The Tattoo does HSDPA, just not HSUPA.
James @ Sep 11th 2009 1:38PM
I agree with the desire for something spectacular and would be willing to pay more for it. I am leaning towards the Hero for the Sense UI which makes normal Android feel blah, which is funny since I have not even held an Android device yet. Had the Sense UI not been available I would not have such an opinion. Normal Android UI would still feel new and interesting to me.
At this point I want an Android phone that has the best camera available (8MP or higher), a slide-out keyboard and good touch screen and virtual keyboard, the fastest processor available, the most ram possible and a 32 GB mini SD card. I don't want it to be light and feel cheap. I want it to have some heft to it. I want it to fit nicely in my pocket (no chin). It definitely has to have wifi, bluetooth and A2DP. I would like it to have a lower res webcam on the front side so apps could be written to do video chat where I can see the screen (other person's video) while it sends out video of me. Biggest battery possible. Basically a phone that will be robust enough to handle future Android updates for a couple of years.
For now, the Hero is the closest match to these requirements. I am also very happy with Sprint so the Hero again is the best choice so far.

What does Exchange: Depends on version mean?
sandawgscorch @ Sep 11th 2009 5:26PM
maybe the first release didn't include exchange support.. but cupcake (donut?) enabled support
??
roflbrothel @ Sep 27th 2009 9:19PM
Google themed phones do not support exchange (thanks to some bizarre thing with MS) but non-google themed Android phones do. It's pretty much some sort of legal thing which I'm pretty sure can be side-stepped.

Fix the memory information. Some of the numbers listed are Flash ROM not available RAM.
Magic: 512 MB ROM, 192 MB RAM
Hero: 512 MB ROM, 288 MB RAM
G1: 256 MB, ROM, 192 MB RAM
CLIQ: 512 MB ROM, 256 MB RAM
EverlastingPhotos @ Nov 15th 2009 6:29PM
my Cliq came with 2gb card in the package
Quasar @ Sep 11th 2009 11:58PM
Storage for Cliq is 512 MB too. I know not all of it is usable but it's not all usable on the other phones listed as 512 either. Not all of the 256 MB on the G1 is usable either. In fact, less than half of it is usable on the G1.
Jonathan Abbey @ Oct 8th 2009 12:13PM
Yeah, I like my G1 just fine, but I'd love to upgrade to an Android phone that had a bit more RAM on it.
EverlastingPhotos @ Nov 15th 2009 5:43PM
The Cliq was my Bday gift this year and I got it Nov 2 even though it was available 2 weeks prior for Tmobile customers but my upgrade date was the 2nd so I waited This phone is really great I don't make many comments on products but I am pleased. It intergrated all my contacts from emails myspace facebook last.fm and more. I was shocked, I have over a few hundred email contacts about 500 myspace contacts and over 800 phone numbers in tmobile
never before have i seen them in one place not even on my computer. Then as a bonus I can connect all the multiple contacts for each. For instance you may have a facebook friend and their number or separate email or myspace you can put all those contacts together instantly and keep them in order with options text, call, IM , post, email or send pic, update, comment etc... The ease is incredible. I prefer keyboard and touch because you can see the entire screen and type at the same time I like that option. Gphone was good but this is a step up without all the tech glitches. Many apps from google plus internet all the time good battery life. I am on my phone all the time now I can update , text send email blasts and keep talking all at once. Even the speaker phone is good noone ever knows that I am talking on it.The earphone set is also great my friends can not tell the difference on that either. The pictures and video look like HD I am a photographer and I can tell the difference in quality.Colors are crisp and natural the only setback is no flash but outside of that this is a great choice.Another feature that is good is app set up right on screen mix and match what is important to you. I keep weather on screen because I live in one state and work in another.Sorry gamers I cannot speak on that ,my phone is for business so on that topic I have no comment.
