Motorola CLIQ coming to T-Mobile next month for $200 on contract

Counting down the moments with your besties until T-Mobile USA opens up the pre-order page for Motorola's first-ever Android device? Might as well do something more productive in the meanwhile, particularly since the aforesaid carrier has just announced plans to charge $199.99 for the CLIQ on a two-year agreement. Without a doubt, that's quite a bit more than the $0.00 we gently expected (okay, not really) it to run, but it's pretty much par for the course these days. Existing T-Mobile customers that are interested in getting ahold of this thing (in Titanium or Winter White) early can pre-order one from October 19th through November 1st, while newcomers and procrastinators can get theirs in-store starting on November 2nd. So -- you in, or what?

Remember when all the tech blogs thought this was a kiddie-phone that would be sub-$100?

I'm gonna go with the N900. If you add in the mandatory data contract on the CLiQ, that's an extra $600. I can get an unlocked N900 for that and use wi-fi ... or at least add data at my discretion and not under contract.

What is the cheapest you have found the N900 for? Im thinking of going with the Cliq because the N900 os over $600.

I will choose Motorola CLIQ than HTC G1, HTC HERO and other brand. Because a fresh UI, fast respon for touchscreen than HTC Android Phone, cheap price than HTC Android Phonne (more than USD 1,000 without contract) and more.

Not interested. Now. If you were to allow customers freedom to choose their OS of choice, then it would be attractive.

T-Mobile. When are you going to lower the price of the HTC Dash 3G down to the reasonable level of say $120 ?

I thought servicer providers where in a "War" right now.

Well.. I'm not under any contract at the moment.
Maybe I should shop around.....

$200? Really? Not sure who is to blame here (Motorola or T-Mobile), but neither is doing themselves any favors with that pricing (unless T-Mobile is afraid of getting stuck with a glut of MyTouch Inventory).

Motorola needs to move fast and get this (and other devices... *cough* Sholes *cough*) out the door quick. Otherwise when this thing tanks due to lack of interest (because of price and T-Mobile's lack of subscribers), it will look just like another nail in the Motorola coffin.

Don't forget that it has a Keyboard!!!

And it has solid telephone performance with enhanced noise reduction with two microphones (Crystal Talk Plus).

And it has a better camera for low light conditions than an iPhone.

With Media Link that Motorola paid the German software company Nero to write for them, it can easily sync music and import playlists from iTunes or Win Media Player, and make ringtones from your music with a single click, also transfer photos and do basic photo editing.
