First Storm 2 ad huffs and puffs for attention (video)

Given the timing of Storm 2's launch and the Motorola DROID's unveiling, you'd think Verizon had all but abandoned its touchscreen BlackBerry. But lo and behold, we do have a new television spot. "Who says lightning never strikes twice" -- who said it ever struck the first time? Video after the break.

Not so sure the whole "lightening strikes twice" theme is the way to go with the Storm, since so many original Storm users feel like they grabbed a lightning rod in a storm with the first edition. But people who like Blackberry are almost as crazy loyal as Apple fans, so there are probably a few that didn't get burned the first time willing to go grab the lightning rod in a storm again.

I have the first one, and I just tried the Storm2 in the store, and it seems like the screen is EXACTLY the same and just as bad as the first.
As far as I can tell this is the same phone with more ram, wifi, and a MORE annoying screen that covers the extra keys at the bottom.

I played with the storm 2 today and it is JUST AS BAD as the first. Let me clarify that I am not just taking a crack at the device. I wanted to love it.
I spent 5 minutes with and and the fact that the screen still depress nearly 1/2 a millimeter every time you want to trigger a character or press a button is annoying. This coupled with the mechanical clicking noise (not from a speaker but from the mechanics of the screen pressing a button) is painful. It would make the same sound if you removed the speaker - its mechanics)
Sorry - just being honest but I don't need a screen to depress and click to let me know I made an entry. I have tactile nerve endings on the tips of my fingers. I now if I am in contact with a surface.
